SprezzaBox – Your Style in a Box
Chances are, if you like style and subscription boxes, you’ve come across at least one SprezzaBox ad. Unless you’ve actually bought one or started doing some research about what comes in every box, you might be a bit hesitant about whether is suits you. While finding what each individual box contains is pretty easy, I will focus on the more generic features of the SprezzaBox, that way it will be easier for you to decide if you want to try out their service.
What is the SprezzaBox?
The SprezzaBox is a monthly subscription service focusing on style for men. Boxes normally revolve around an elegant/smart style. Every box ships with 5-6 products, with an overall retail value of over $100. On their site, you can choose among several subscription plans, namely: $28 per box (billed monthly), $26 per box (6 months + 1 free, $156 paid upfront), and $25 per box (12 months + 2 free, $300 paid upfront).
Where does the SprezzaBox ship?
SprezzaBox ships worldwide (from the looks of it), and shipping charges range from $2 (United States), $6 (Canada), and $8 (worldwide). This is actually great; I’ve looked into a plethora of subscription boxes that either don’t ship to Europe or that ask for charges that pretty much amount to the box costs alone.
What can I find in a typical SprezzaBox?
I’ve looked for full spoilers and reviews of the Sprezzabox starting from January 2019 up to May 2019 (June 2019 spoilers aren’t up yet), and I even subscribed for the months of March and April, using a code that offered a bonus box, not sure if that’s still a thing though.
The content of a typical SprezzaBox is as follows:
- Pocket square
- Beauty product (moisturizer, cologne, sunblock)
- Small Accessory
- Main Accessory
The only box I found that didn’t have a pocket square was January 2019, all following months had them. As regards the accessories, they range from pens, lapel pins and cufflinks, to sunglasses, wallets and bracelets. All contents are nicely produced and perfect for a truly dapper style. Of course, beauty products tend to be quite small, nothing that will last you for long if you want to use them regularly.
Ties, socks, and pocket squares are normally well picked to be worn together, so basically you get a complete style every month.
Also, all boxes tend to contain a card for some kind of discount on different websites (wine reseller, accessories, and so on). Unfortunately, unless you live in the United States or in Canada (maybe?), those discounts are hardly usable.
Should I try the SprezzaBox?
Personally, I loved the SprezzaBox(es) I got. However, working as a freelancer, mostly from home, I don’t really wear suits to work (I tried it, just didn’t feel right). So, even though I like suiting up from time to time, the real question for me was: do I really need 12 new ties, socks, and pocket squares I don’t choose personally every year? Don’t get me wrong, I like the fact you get a random style every month, it forces me out of my comfort zone of personally-picked, extremely monochrome collection of ties and socks.
I wouldn’t take the beauty products into account when choosing whether to get the SprezzaBox, as not only are they small, I have my own go-to brands and selection, so other than using them as on-the-go solutions, I don’t think they’d be very useful.
If, like me, you don’t have to wear a tie to work, but you still like the casual shirt and sport coat look with a nice accessory to top all of it, you’ll definitely love the accessories and might even get to use the pocket squares, and trust me, the accessories offered by the SprezzaBox are really stylish and I think they’re worth it.
In the end, it all comes down to how often you wear ties and how you accessorize. Personally, I think the SprezzaBox allows for some effortless style, but how much of that style you exactly need in a year, that’s up to you. If you decide the SprezzaBox suits your tastes and needs, go ahead and try it! And remember, use STOLAS at the checkout for a 10% discount on your first box!
